Plumber in Lumberton

Lumberton at a glance

Lumberton is a city in southeastern Hardin County with 13,557 people at the 2020 census, up from 11,943 in 2010. It covers about 13.4 square miles and is home to Village Creek State Park.

What that means for your plumbing

Steady growth means a mix of newer subdivisions and older homes on bigger, wooded lots. Some properties around town may use private wells and septic systems. If every drain is slow at once, tell the plumber whether you're on septic; see drain cleaning.

Village Creek and the woods

Village Creek forms the city's eastern border, and the town has a humid subtropical climate with hot, humid summers and mild to cool winters. Wooded lots mean roots, and creek-side land can stay wet for long stretches. Both are hard on buried sewer and water lines.

A growing Hardin County town

Lumberton is part of the Beaumont–Port Arthur metropolitan area, and Lumberton Independent School District, whose high school teams are the Raiders, serves the town. Village Creek State Park draws visitors to the creek's sandy banks and forest trails. For homeowners, growth means many houses built in the past few decades, along with older homes that have been extended and updated. Newer houses often use plastic supply lines, which resist rust but can leak at fittings. Older ones may have aging water heaters and original drain lines.
